H.E. White and Clay Elementary each sent a group of three students to the Regional Science Fair. Both groups would go on to claim first prize and advance to the State Science Fair in March

The group from HEWES would leave a mark on the judges with their project studying whether different surfaces affect the motion of a wind-up toy. The three students from CES would dazzle the judges with their project on finally trying to answer whether Energizer batteries really "keep going and going and going".
