Clay County Schools Recognized as a Military Friendly District (Purple Star Award)

Clay County Schools, along with the 6 schools that comprise the school district, were presented with the Purple District Award on Monday, May 13th, at Clay County High School. Robert Mellace and Carrie Clendening with the WVDE Office of Educator Preparation were on hand to present the school district and each school with a banner recognizing this achievement. Members of VFW Post 4419 were also present to take part in this recognition.

The Purple Star Award is a designation designed to recognize schools and school districts that display a dedication to providing support to military families and their children.
