Science Fair Returns to Clay County

The Science Fair returned to Clay County on Thursday, January 11th. Students from Big Otter, Clay, H.E. White and Lizemore Elementary schools along with students from Clay County Middle School convened at the Auxiliary Gym adjacent to the Board Office to display their projects to a panel of local area judges. The projects ranged across the science spectrum, from Astronomy, Animal Science, and Chemistry to Energy and Physics.  A total of 19 projects were presented to the judges. Three projects from the elementary level, as well as two from the middle school, scored above the threshold of 90 points to advance to the regional competition next month in Charleston. Clay County Schools would like to congratulate all the students that competed and good luck to those students who will be competing at regionals. Clay County Schools would also like to thank the school administrators, teachers, parents/guardians, and students for all their hard work in making this such a special event.
